Last Day to Sign Up for USM Fall English Course

Fall semester course dates and general information:

• The fall semester will run from August 28th through December 15th, and we will be offering a variety of course offerings for community members of an intermediate to advanced level of English proficiency. 
• Additional course details are included on the attached course flier (class dates, delivery modality, etc.).

A placement assessment (free as always) would be a first  needed step for anyone who might be considering enrolling, and the link to sign up for that is here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090445aaa828a2fb6-esol. Those will be offered regularly through the 23rd of August. 

• Tests are completed in person on the Portland campus and take about 2 hours. They are timed, so the window listed for each test is the start and end time (not drop in hours).
• Tests are generally offered up through the start of classes, but we'd recommend that anyone considering OMRS funding complete the assessment as soon as they are able, so that the needed paperwork can be completed in plenty of time for them to enroll and start up at the beginning of the desired session. 
• Please note that while anyone is welcome to participate in the assessment, it is a university-aligned test, so it is  most manageable and appropriate for those who have reached a comfortably intermediate level of fluency and literacy in English.

Once the assessment has been completed, to register, any interested participants would simply contact our office and provide the needed registration information. For OMRS funding, they would also need to complete this initial application, (printed copies also available in our office) and complete any additional steps (documentation, if needed, etc.) via OMRS. (Official deadline for summer class funding was August 10, but we have extended that through August 23rd to accommodate any latecomers.
