Type of Volunteer: helps with health-related data entry & administrative support at the Office of Maine Refugee Services, Catholic Charities Maine

Availability/Time Commitment: 10 hours a week, flexible

Scheduling is flexible, but we are looking for someone who can reliably serve approximately 10 hours/week for a minimum of 12 weeks.

Position description: This is an unpaid volunteer position, providing data entry and organizational support to the Refugee Medical Health Team

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications & Skills Required: Beginner medical knowledge & some experience in health related field is required.

Maturity, professionalism, initiative, sound judgment, and dependability required. Confidence and self-motivation to work independently in challenging situations. Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work closely in a team setting.

Comfortable & some experience with data entry using Microsoft EXCEL & spreadsheets

Dependability and commitment to task.

Impact of opportunity: The volunteer will support the mission of the Office of Maine Refugee Services, Catholic Charities Maine by assisting in the organization, maintenance, and upkeep of a health-related database. The volunteer will gain knowledge and real-world experience of medical data entry.

Training Offered: Catholic Charities Maine Volunteer Orientation & training, strong day-to-day, on-going supervisory support on a per-project basis by the Office of Maine Refugee Services.
