Position description: The Refugee & Immigration Services Filing Friend provides administrative support to RIS staff members.  The Filing Friend Volunteer (FFV) puts their organizational skills to the test to provide ongoing administrative support or to tackle short term projects.  FFV with accounting experience may help us manage receipts and create vouchers.  Data entry, filing, shredding, sorting mail, organizing supplies.  It is perfect for those who prefer to work independently on tasks in a multicultural environment - and practice our core values of Integrity & Stewardship.

Impact of opportunity: The Filing Friend Volunteer will create a welcoming environment for refugee and asylee clients and support our mission to provide quality service to them.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

Training Offered: Catholic Charities Maine Volunteer Orientation & Introduction to RIS and the Filing Friend Volunteer

Commitment/Schedule: Mondays through Fridays, flexible schedule anytime 8:30 to 5:00, can be 4 to 20 hours per week - for a 3-6 months or a year long schedule.
